Who We Are
About National Church Residences
More than 60 years ago, Rev. John R. Glenn and four Ohio Presbyterian churches came together to form Ohio Church Residences with Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio—the first community built to provide senior housing and supportive care for older adults. Rooted in Christian service and values, this small, faith-driven effort laid the foundation for National Church Residences, now recognized as a nationwide leader in affordable senior housing and services.
Today, National Church Residences serves more than 70,000 older adults, offering affordable senior housing, independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and home health services across the country. Guided by a mission to uphold dignity, comfort, and independence, National Church Residences creates communities where seniors can thrive and families can feel peace of mind. Our nationwide network includes the largest team of service coordinators in senior housing, helping residents navigate care with compassion and expertise. Nearly six decades later, National Church Residences continues to expand access, embrace innovation, and remain steadfast in providing faith-inspired, person-centered support for older adults at every stage of life.
At National Church Residences, we honor every senior’s unique journey through compassionate care and servant leadership. Guided by our mission and rooted in Christian service, we provide a full continuum of housing and healthcare options from affordable senior housing, independent living to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and primary care. With over 350 communities covering 23 states, National Church Residences’ mission is to advance better living for seniors.
As the nation’s largest provider of service coordinators, we walk alongside residents and families with dignity and respect, ensuring comfort and confidence at every stage. Continuing the vision of our founder, Rev. John Glenn, we remain committed to creating communities of connection and purpose for generations to come.
